I-Pace production car expected for Frankfurt debut

Jaguar's I-Pace electric SUV is now expected to debut at Frankfurt in September and go on sale in first European markets shortly afterwards, writes Brian Byrne.

Based very closely on the concept above revealed at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and later shown at Geneva last March, the  car is planned to have a range in excess of 350km between charges.

It will be powered by two electric motors, delivering a total of up to 400hp between them.

Jaguar Land Rover released a teaser photo in March of the car undergoing road testing in camouflage, and a production model was spotted in Monaco last month doing a photo shoot.

The car is being built under contract to JLR by Magna Steyr in Austria.
